Dot-to-Dot 1–20
Counting practice that ends in a picture. Ten puzzles of ten dots to start — a star, a house, a cat, a rocket — then ten that run to twenty: the sun, a car, an apple, a butterfly. Dot number 1 is coral on every page, so there is never a question about where to begin, and the numbers sit outside the shape where a pencil will not smudge them. Each puzzle says what the picture is at the bottom, so a child who gets stuck is never stuck for long — and every finished picture is worth colouring in. Then take the dots off the page: cut out ten big hop dots, spread them on the floor and hop from 1 to 10 - on one foot, like a frog, or backwards from 10. Draw a bird and a car in four easy steps, finish the other half of a pig, spot the difference, sort big from little and find the way through three mazes.
